Classical music with deep bass

For deep human voices, this can't be beaten:

Listen to the astonishing descent to low B flat at 21:20.

The Cantate Domino disc on the propius label, a Swedish recording that has some good low notes.
This record could be difficult to find.

Saint Saens Symphony in 3 in C minor - the recording by San Francisco Symphony orchestra with Jean Guillou playing the organ - other recordings do not have the guts and roar that this record has.

Poulenc Concerto for Organ Strings and Timpani with Ian Tracey on the organ and the BBC Philharmonic recorded in Liverpool Cathedral.

For good bass lines the recording location can be very important - the hall is one of the instruments that is being played.

Good luck

Copland - Fanfare For the Common Man. The bass drum thwaks can be good.

Also most other Copland works. Lots of low end thump and dynamics to wake up the neighbours. I'd recommend his EMI Double Forte CD...

..which has Fanfare for the Common Man, Rodeo, Billy the Kid, Appalachian Spring and more. All the Copland you could ever need and great recording quality.

£1.66 used from here. Bargain.
