Brexit: give me a positive effect (2023 ‘Epic Fail’ box set edition)

The UK’s vaunted biosecurity border to be introduced in 30 April now won’t be. Instead measures will be slowly introduced in a “sensible and controlled“ way. The script sounds like it could have been knocked up by Theresa May’s speech writer, like they’ve also been shitting in rivers in “a sensible and controlled way”.

This week the news was saying that we have supply shortage of certain drugs this is due to Brexit. I don’t understand if this is the case how the hell the rest of the world manages to get supplies and they aren’t in the EU. Is it just that we are failing at doing the basics right because we can blame Brexit

Yeah, somehow the EU still gets to be the government scapegoat.

Got through eurostar fairly fast recently , looks like the new finger print requirements for non eu could scupper that !!

That was also a swipe at the neo-fash in the RN, who have finally understood that bright ideas like Frexit and leaving the euro are vote losers. They are now trying to be more clever about it. They say they want to remain in the EU and the EZ. Simultaneously, they push ideas and programs that would gut the EU from the inside, with the support of like-minded parties in other countries. The more moderate right and centre are struggling in the polls: young Bardella is doing a good job for the RN and is ahead in the polls for the EP elections in June. So Macron has to remind people of what Bardella and the RN really stand for.

To leave the EZ would be infinitely more calamitous than to leave the EU. I'm sure that's been long obvious to the bods in the RN. The Euro was always intended to irrevocably tie the EU members onto the route to political union. The Euro may have been economically pretty disastrous for many EZ members, but the option to leave it is simply not there.

I think the RN only cottoned on a few years ago. Marine Le Pen is not the fastest learner.
Yes, it's hard to leave the EU without leaving the EZ. Tricky one.
(The EZ does many things besides what you say, of course.)
