Austerity Kills People

Conservative MP Heidi Allen broke down in tears during the Universal Credit debate today:

Does anyone know if this made the TV news?

It seems to me that a Tory MP being reduced to tears by the consequences of her own party's brutality towards the poor ought to be worthy of primetime news. I've certainly seen far more trivial stories covered.

Also, Frank Field is hardly your typical liberal do-gooder, so when he says the present system is failing the poor it's time to listen.

She does of course have the option to do the decent thing and resign, or cross the floor.

In general:

Anyone who needs to be told.. yet again.. that the Tory reforms, austerity and all the rest of it have absolutely nothing to do with 'improvement' of any kind and everything to do with either compassionless idealogical intransigence, or naked profiteering and theft, or both.. simply hasn't been paying attention.

They would typically vote Labour though.

I saw it on line. Shocking. The woman should now have the moral courage to resign or leave the party.
