    Sennhieser entry level IEM

I have always been impressed by the Senn budget offerings. The pair I have at the moment have somehow lasted me about 8 years! There are a lot of interesting budget IEMs out there at the moment, mostly from China i believe. I have just taken a punt on a pair of Tin Audio T2 Pros, purchased...

Very true but HiFi moves much slower than computing :)

    Modular HiFi?

I have a 72 with Nj boards and power amps with Avondale boards. The Avondale amplifier boards are designed to drop right into a Naim 250 I believe. You can swap them out very easily because they are designed to fit there. You couldn't however easily drop them into a quad amp, that would involve...

    Modular HiFi?

Yes if you are building a Naim system...think of companies such as Hypex, Avondale, Ryan sound labs, Teddy Pardo etc.

    Modular HiFi?

I understand similar products exist, but as you have mentioned they are in their own ecosystems.

    Modular HiFi?

I was tinkering with my PC yesterday and it got me wondering if smaller hifi manufacturers are missing a trick.. If you are familiar with custom building a PC you will know its basically a Lego set with some cables. By that I mean everything has a set place and all mountings are pre drilled to...

Bang for Buck hifi - what bangs best for you?

A friend of mine recently built a pair of single drive unit speakers using £70 fostex drivers in a horn/port MDF box. Easily the best bang for buck I have ever heard in hifi. Other than that my M-DAC has proved excellent acting as Pre, DAC and headphone amp.

As mentioned Sugden or possibly old Quad pre/power.

Speakers that sacrifice accuracy for entertainment?

I would say anything by Neat. From memory they told me the majority of their speaker design/tuning is done by ear rather than measuring devices. A speaker like the old Neat Elite with its ribbon tweeter and ports firing out in all directions is a beautifully engaging speaker but I doubt...

    Technics 1210 mk2 lids

Hi guys, We need to cat proof a pair of 1210s ideally as cheaply as possible. Does anyone know a supplier of 1210 lids that they could recommend? Many thanks Tom

I am happy with my system

But my audio upgrades mask the emptiness in my life. "It's the muddy mids that are keeping me awake at night, fix that and I will be forever happy" If I'm happy with my system I may have to confront the bleak empty void and do some self improving. :p

Turns out my chrome browser wasn't updating (error 7) so I reinstalled chrome and its up to the latest version. Seems to being playing fine now. Rookie mistake.
