    Vintage speakers for Leben CS300X?

I love the sound of my Audio Note AN-E's driven by my CS300XS, they're a good match. Maybe not "vintage" enough for you but they are the same age as the Leben.

    Thorens TD-124/II restoration / upgrade

Yes, but I'd never seen that much "correction" on one before.

    Thorens TD-124/II restoration / upgrade

Good looking turntable. Somebody has done some serious rebalancing of the step pulley which might indicate a problem with it or its bearing. The biggest cause of motor vibration is an over tight belt and the options of different belts has been discussed here ad nausium.

Valve Amp Decisions - Advice Needed

Another to consider is the Leben CS300. I have mine driving AN-e's but previously big Tannoys.

    Thorens TD-124/II restoration / upgrade

Once you have your Thorens serviced and running at it's best it deserves a better arm than a Linn Basik which is, well a bit basic. If the Adikt is as high compliance as I think it is then it will do well in the SME. If you are staying with reasonably compliant MMs that's fine you have a...

    Odd vintage fuse

Tony, I think this is the fuse size you're looking for. Modern manufacture all have these shiny squared off end caps but the ones from the 50's are more pointed like your photo; so that could be a 65 yr old Fuse! https://uk.rs-online.com/mobile/p/cartridge-fuses/8511498/

    Thorens TD-124/II restoration / upgrade

I need to buy a replacement bulb for the strobe on my td124.2. They are available from Schopper and other EU sources but they are all £25 plus. I have found a source in the USA that will bring the price down to around a fiver so long as I buy at least 10 or more. I don't need more than 2 spares...

    Please help with 78 cartridge

For a low cost start try a 78 stylus fitted to a readily available "workhorse" cartridge like a Stanton 500 or Shure M44. You may have something at the back of a drawer or you can get one cheap. A 3mil stylus will only be £15-20. Try with your existing phono stage and tone controls if you have...

    Music media library

Once the files have been scanned by LMS it doesn't care about the file structure. I have multiple squeezeboxes accessing a small Celeron powered LMS. It's fast and efficient. I would suggest that your QNAP isn't powerful enough to run LMS and/or you have an old version. LMS generally runs better...

    Thorens TD-124 bearing gasket

Personally I would just diy cut from 0.4mm gasket paper with a craft knife or scalpel. Audiosilente sell them as part of kits with thrust washers on eBay. If you are still using an original pressed steel bottom plate it may well of become distorted and I would recommend changing to one of the...

    Dynatron tube amps?

I know that their valve amps are sought after and normally sell for hundreds of pounds. I think this seller is a bit optimistic. Founded by the Hacker brothers their past (pre-war) was far grander than their descent into stereograms and chipboard furniture...

    Mullard EL84 construction types

When I see Mullards (and some other brands) advertised they often say construction type RX1 or 2, KM1 or 2. Can some clever person please explain the basic difference and does it matter? Thanks.

    Bargain Box Sets

I think Tony's link to the Evans box is the tip of the iceberg, there's a whole pile of these Universal/Concord Box Sets which I had not seen before (but not new releases apparently). Strange listings on Amazon with only a garbled string of Italian for a product description...
