    Audiolab 9000 CDT users feedback

Could the Atoll DR200 Signature CD transport be a better value, for that perspective of build quality and parts? It uses the same TEAC cd drive.

    Black Ravioli Record Ground

I don’t want to upset those who are interested in this product and have money to buy it… but to me it seems that this audio business is getting insane, and very detached from the notion of value and propose. Not only today’s prices are getting insane, but also there are so many products being...

Is this the most beautiful amp......

For me the ”problem” in the Rose’s design is only the logo on the knob and perhaps the mechanism behind it. It is too toyish… The rest is very nice… The new line of streamers get the logo or Rose, engraved on the top cover, and once again I find things like that too bling-bling.

    Isolation feet and speaker stands

Perhaps you will need something well glued to the corners to impede the Auva’s from slipping. Perhaps some “L” shape MDF pieces, half the height of the Auva’s painted in black… My 4 year son likes to dance around but never more than 2 meters from the speakers, just because someone told him the...

    Quad Revela 1…users opinions?

I subscribe that entirely. In this case, I feel that IAG is very serious about their stuff… although some shared components make some of their brands / models feel less “special”. Like a VW, has parts from Skoda or Seat… You’re right, it was the 77-11. It was so good that the new owners wanted...

    Quad Revela 1…users opinions?

Yes, the 77-11 was bui by Spendor and was part of the 77 series, which I also had the “carbon” series integrated amp. That was before the IAG.

    Quad Revela 1…users opinions?

As for the “made in china” concerns I truly believe that IAG just nailed it from the start. I have and occasionally use (*) the Quad 11L which I believe to be the brand’s first speaker made in China, and the sound and build quality is simply stunning. That model was release around 2003 and still...

    Quad Revela 1…users opinions?

These new Quad Revela 1 are one of the most interesting speakers released recently and certainly on my “to check out” list, but apart from a not-so-reveling review on Hi-Fi News (using stands with the wrong height!!) I haven’t catch any other evaluation of the… until this: Wow! Tarun’s...

    DAC yes/no

Sure. I would say that the Pontus have a more natural sound (organic, analogue and all the adjectives related) and taht resulted in much more engaging and totally non-fatiguing experience. Also there is a bit more substance to the sound making old recordings very fun to listen to. The Qutest, in...

    CD in 2024

I am all in for the last 35 years, and still buying in a weekly basis! CDs all the way, baby yeah :) Although I prefer to search titles on brick-and-mortar stores, for convenience and a wide range of choice, in the end, Discogs is my favorite place to buy. Sadly, shipping costs are getting...

    DAC yes/no

The answer is: yes! Your system can take advantage of a better dac. The Rega Saturn Mk3 can be interesting if you play CDs like I do. I went from the Qutest to the Denafrips Pontus II and couldn’t be more happy. It allows a more natural, engaging and mature sound. My advice is: if you can, try...

Which speakers, in a 4x4.5m room?

You have a nice sized room and either speakers should do very well in that space… but the synergy with your Exposure integrated and your personal taste over the results are things that makes this matter impossible to answer. Also your specific taste in music falls a bit on the side of my...
