I have got splashtop streamer to control my Mac's and I am about to trial an old Xserve (late 2006 bwith 24gb of RAM. DAC will be MDAC as XServe has no inboard Soundcard. This will be a direct comparison with my Mac Mini set up.

I have some original B&W car speakers knocking around from memory they are Kevlar looking (may just be yellow). From the 80's but would they be of any use?!?

I have the etymotics and paid the extra for custom fit which was well worth it! Shutting out background noise us far better than that noise cancelling rubbish. Just keep very still if you go for a fitting even moving you jaw can upset the seal. Btw anything is better than supplied headphones. Iain
