Short update. Got falcon to send over 2 scan speak tweeters from the same batch and sequential serial numbers. Now fitted. Sl2 are singing again. Perhaps the matched pair would be better but still they sound fab to my ears. Thanks for all opinions.

Barry, most probably wise words. Just that I am an engineer so a little look is intriguing. Then I'll decide what to do. For sure, the safe option is to go the official naim route. It grates though how much they add to the basic tweeter price when I might be able to get it done by myself...

So the price difference is £110 ish for Oem ones within the same production batch or £460 from naim for "matched pairs". Pretty tempted to go the Oem route for that difference. Or am I missing something critical?

Thank you Tony. Very insightful. I'll dig out the naim service price and compare with the £60 per tweeter scanspeak's web site was quoting on them. I don't mind a bit of solder work so if naim's price is extreme I have a good alternative. Thanks again Tony and Barry.
