Your Loudspeaker history...

My main system speakers tend not to change much:

Bose 301 (bought in 1980 -- my first 'real' speakers)
Boston Acoustics 160 (1983-5)
Linn DMS Isobarik (1985-2008)
Tannoy DMT 215 (2008-present)

Many 'second' system speakers or speakers I bought/inherited to try over the years, including:
B&W DM 220
Acoustic Research 18
3D Acoustics model 3D
Linn Kan I
Linn Sara (early ones)
Linn Tukan
Some 60s vintage Wharfedales inherited from parents
Revel M-20
PSB 600

Still have the Saras and Briks.

Acoustic Research AR18
Boston A40
Linn Kan
Epos ES11
Linn Kan (Biwire)
Linn Sara 2
Royd RR2
Now onto Naim SL2 which will stay for quite a while I think.

Keesonic Kub '79
rega Ela '89
rega Xel '08
rega Naos recent

With the Ela's I thought I was going to be a two speaker person for life :) until I chanced on the Xel's last year (remembering that Paul Messenger had rated them number one in a shoot out for 'Choice' many moons ago I gave them a punt on ebay and won ;) ). Dusted them down, spiked 'em up three way Ela style and gave them a whirl. Wow, talk about a grown up Ela :) :).
And there things should have stayed until I saw the Naos recently on ebay. I'd bought a low powered valve jobbie and wondered what if. Took a punt again and won. Her indoors went fooking barmy :D. The upside of it is the Ela's have gone, she's calmed down and the Xel's are sat in a corner behind my sofa waiting for a custom paint job this summer . Oh, and the Naos are staying too .

1968 Wharfedale Super Linton
1971 B&W DM3
1975 AR7
1976 AR18
1979 ADS L810
1980 Visonik David
1981 Rogers LS3/5a
2007 Rogers LS5/12a
2008 Aerial 5B

Best of the bunch? AR7s (destroyed relocating), LS3/5a (still have).

1986 - Mission 70s ('proper' hifi!)
1991 - Tannoy 607s
1995 - Monitor Audio MA202 (one of the best pair of speakers I ever heard for < £300)
1999 - Mission 702s (ugh, what was I thinking)
2007 - Neat Petite / Gravitas (nice but not the last word in detail for me)
2009 - ProAc Studio 140s (awesome - needs a good amp to partner them though)

1985 - Homemade huge horrible things with 12" woofer, 8" mid and screechy piezo tweeter. Ugh.
1986 - Akroyd or Royd (?) A7s fitted with Isobarik tweeters (original tweeters were purple plastic cones and one was split)
1988 - NAD 8020e (rebadged Kefs)
1995 - Kef C15s (which stayed while every other part of the system changed)
2006 - Totem Arros (lovely... but more lower end needed)

One of the Royd's was knocked off its stand and the woofer never worked again
My brother still uses the NADs. Sold the Kefs on eBay in 2008 for almost what I paid for them after all those years and three countries. New owner extremely happy (not a mark on them and original packaging).

1965 - 6" Philips dual-cone drivers set in flared ends of 2 x 4ft concrete pipes
1968 - Dual (same as TT) standmount speakers (can't recall model ref)
1970 - Kef Cadenzas
1972 - Kef Cantors (added for quadraphonic)
1992 - Tannoy 613s
1995 - Tannoy D700s

No plans to change unless Lotto smiles on me...

1973 - 1978 - Gooodmans Magnum K2
1978 - 1980 - Celestion Ditton 66
1980 - 2005 Linn Isobarik DMS
2005 - Present Linn Isobarik PMS

Update:

If you aren't able to use the link above?, kust go to Audioasylum.com and look in the inmate system info. and click on E and stroll down to El34eh@ yahoo - mini monitor lover to read about what this hobby has been about for/for me.

Think ive remembered them all...

Kef Kit 3 – most heavy
Mordant Short MS20 – despite the 50 pence tweeter, I have fond memories of these
SD Acoustic SD3 – brilliant some of the time, indifferent the rest
Tanoy Mercury – a bit boom and tizz
B & W 6?? – more boom and tizz
Mordant Short MS100 – most coherent, limited bass, would love to hear some now
Linn Sara – best bass, worst imaging, everyone should try them
Epos ES14 – best imaging, good all rounder
Castle Chester – look nice, don’t sound as nice as they look
Mission 752 Freedom – surprisingly good with valves
Mission 750 LE – not bad, fragile drivers like a lot of mission speakers
Pink Triangle Ventricle – realy nice, but not efficient enough for the valve amp I was using at the time
Impulse Lali – most efficient, explicit highs, bass boom can be an issue
Mission 782 SE – nice until the keraform driver blows - and it will blow, mediocre with the non keraform replacement.
KEF XQ1 – fine as an AV speaker, durable
Monitor Audio GS20 – excellent all rounder

And before anyone ask, yes I collect Mini-Monitors

Well Oscar, I guess if anyone is going to collect loudspeakers, mini-monitors are probably the least hassle, spacewise, of the various options...

With 12 examples listed, I would hate to imagine the space required had the speaker type selected been large corner-placement horn designs!

;):):D:cool:

£15 video somethiongs from Comet in '73
Mordant Short Pageant II
Impulse H6
H6's in storage
DSP5000 2nd hand
Impulse H6 again

And I thought I had spent a lot!

I am surprisingly un-fussy about speakers and can acclimatise to different styles of presentation pretty quickly.

Here's my list.

KEF Cresta 2
B&W 602 S2
Tannoy Revolution R3
AVI Neutron IV
Naim Credo
PMC GB1

LOL - did I say that? The list has grown somewhat in the last year and a half. Here are the new additions:

Shahinian Arc
PMC FB1+
Living Voice Avatar II
Spendor S8e
ProAc Response 1SC
