Yamaha mid bass distorting

I have recently purchased a pair of yamaha ns5 speakers on line. Rare hidden gem to my ears.
However, found the mid bass to have an annoying distortion.
This distortion seems to improve after I have touched cones gently.
I have tried turning drivers around in case of some sagging to cone with no joy.
I did add a bit of weight to one side of cone which seemed to help short term, but usually sounds bad again within 10 minutes
Any ideas on solving this without the need to send for a recone or something?
Thanks in advance
Martin

I had this same problem but not with the same speaker.

It turned out to be one of the wires attached to the terminal block was vibrating on the cone. Easily fixed by a bit of careful bending .

Thanks both for the advice and link.
Will definitely give the advice in the link a try.
If I gently tap around Cone it only rattles at one point so I'm hoping it's just misaligned and can be fixed.
Cheers Martin

I had a Wharfedale that did the same. My teenage cure, having found a light finger press to a sweet spot on the cone stopped the noise, was a little blob of Silicon sealant to that spot.
Again on a Tannoy, which was an errant wire as suggested above.

Thanks again for all the advice.
Funny enough I had some temporary success with a blob of chewing gum! So the silicon may be a good idea.
