Why does Radio Paradise sound so good?

Hmmm, they don't work in Winamp.

Actually I may be able to help. It appears some apps don't like the load balancing redirect performed when you access the "stream" subdomain. We actually end up at a different subdomain, like "icy-4" or "icy-5", though we may not see that.

For most of us it's best to use these:
Main Mix: http://stream.radioparadise.com/flac
Mellow Mix: http://stream.radioparadise.com/mellow-flac

However if your player doesn't like those, try:
Main Mix, London server: http://icy-4.radioparadise.com/flac
Mellow Mix, London server: http://icy-4.radioparadise.com/mellow-flac
or
Main Mix, London server: http://icy-5.radioparadise.com/flac
Mellow Mix, London server: http://icy-5.radioparadise.com/mellow-flac

Other servers: replace "icy-4"/"icy-5" with "icy-6" or "icy-8" in Texas, or "icy-7" in Virginia, per Bill's reply just received on the RP forum.

Just tried again.

With ic-4 I get 'radio paradise (flac)-playlist:radioparadise.com' so it resolves the stream but I get a very stuttered playback.

Odd. There are others reporting great results with the UK servers. Please try again during non-peak hours and let us know if the stuttering goes away.

Thanks for the help so far!
I only want it on Winamp because I can use the bit perfect ASIO plugin.
RP on the web player with FLAC sounds ace so may just use that.
I’ve upped my monthly contribution as RP is the main radio station I stream. I’ve discovered loads of new music on it!

These links currently do not currently include stream metadata (song title info). Not our choice. We would if we could.

FLAC playback is only supported by some players. If your player requires you to go through TuneIn or vTuner to add stations, then our links will not work. They will also not work in iTunes. Player limitations like those are entirely out of our hands.

You can post questions and feedback about the FLAC streams in this forum topic.

Not to derail the thread but someone on PFM mentioned Montana Radio Café and bloody good it is too. More blues/jazz based if that’s your thing.

Also truly superb is JB Radio (Jukebox Radio)

I access it via Roon and it’s the best sounding I’ve ever heard....try it!

No, although I do have that on CD and it' is quite "raw".
My recording was done by a friend on an open reel machine - with the permission of G+C - in a pub in Leeds before they became, sort of famous.
