If you're going to Pitlochry, you have to visit Edradour, and just round the corner, Aberfeldy ;)

However, the Speyside distilleries are much further up
Edradour is on the list for when we get to Pitlochry, this is more for the day driving down from Inverness.

Plan would be for A96 from Inverness to Keith; then A95/A9 to Pitlochry

Laddie was £28 last month when Amazon pricing seemed to have a series of hiccups. I bought two. :D

(Just noticed there's another 10% off it with Subscription so £33 plus change. Very good price.)

I have two PCs (also from that Crazy Friday a couple of weeks ago) and one and a half Ardbeg 10s. ;)
No wonder I'm skint.
Still on nil spend this month!

I never tried this Jack Daniel's but there seems a big chunk off RRP: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07S1488JR/?tag=pinkfishmedia-21

I suspect a marketing exercise, aimed at the gift market. For the RRP you'd expect a higher proof than 43%.

JD cask strength (barrel proof) or single barrel would be better bets for JD fans, although not tried either.

edit - I think Weekender has the barrel proof (?). He'll probably need it this month....

From everything I've heard about JD we are better off on their slightly more uprange offerings...such as:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001GLID4M/?tag=pinkfishmedia-21

Or even:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B077PMM1C2/?tag=pinkfishmedia-21
Which has been as low as £41.50, but also in the low £50s recently.

I have a bottle of the latter and it is quite something...I'm only interested in it when it is at least 20 degrees at 8pm on a Fri/Sat. evening...which does not happen very often in Manchester.

Yes, I think I'll be swayed by the barrel proof at some point. Good reviews from States.

Single barrel should be step up from standard but I'd rather see 50% proof (can always add water - but you can't add taste back!).

I wouldn’t refuse a nip but, as I said upthread on a similar matter, still plenty of scotch untried by me, yet.

Not tried The Loch, but, and only one man's opinion, but the Jura Journey & winter edition I have are as dull as can be. This may be linked to my recent discovery of all things Islay, but I just think they are not a memorable dram. For similar money, it is easy to get a far better bottle from folk like Bunnahabhain, Benriach & Deanston.

Fully agree; the Jura whiskies IMO are all a bit meh...
