I've just picked up a used one of these, and it comes with 3 pairs of loading jumper phono plugs.
Purple , Blue and Black.
Anyone know what the loading is on each ?

I'm using a 47K Ohm Shelter 5000 M/C and I like the sound with the Black ones....

Give james at whest a call. Mine came with two. One for mm and one for MC, but I know he will make plugs to suit cartridges if required. You might have one he made for a specific cartridge.

easy answer is to use a Multimeter, switch it to resistance setting (OHM sign)
One probe on centre of your whest plug, the other on the outer part of the whest plug...

Read the result! and there you go...

Yep, blue is 100 Ohm, Purple is 1 K Ohm, Black is 47K Ohm.
When I used my Shelter 501 MK2, blue was used which is as per Shelter's rec.

ps: When I bought mine in 2007, it was already an ex-demo unit. Some years later, a distortion developed in the left channel so I sent it back to James. As well as repairing the fault, he did an overhaul including fitting a new RIAA stage and it sounded a lot better after that, Maybe worth considering to have it inspected as well.
