Where in the world is it easiest to get rich?

The answer is Scandinavia:

http://evonomics.com/where-in-the-world-is-it-easiest-to-get-rich/

"On the one hand, you have my rich informants that complain about how hard it is to get rich in Scandinavia and they had it all wrong. Not only is it easier to get rich in a social democracy but they are critical to the very institutions that have helped them getting rich: high taxes, which gives free education and more talent into the economy, strong unions that are helping increasing the productivity, and the generous welfare state that make the unions accept downsizing because they know that their members will be well taken care of, so the unions cooperate because of the safety net."

If you want to run a spiv capitalist economy with a race to the bottom on education and wages then the above will be of no concern.

I can tell you for sure where it will be most difficult to get rich ...

... the UK under a Labour Gouvernment.

Luckily this is very unlikely to happen any time soon.

Maybe it's time for a pfm fantasy reading list game (guess what the lil' fish reads).

Not sure about 'rich', but since 1971, when I graduated, until I retired, I was always financially much better off under Labour governments than I was under the Tories.

It tends to be only the very well-heeled who benefit under a Tory government.

Yes. I can see Corbyn & Co's Utopian Socialism work well ...

That almost made me chuckle. Kind of endearing old chap

Apologies if you find this mildly insulting, but you sound like typical Sun/Daily Mail fodder.

I can only speak from experience, not from what I'm told to think.

Not at all.

You've obviously been hibernating the last few years (or lived in a very happy time warp bubble) ... or time has rose tinted your views ... or you simply haven't followed 'new' Labour.

The alternative could be very bad indeed me thinks.

The problem is the definition of what is 'rich'. Relative to others around you? Relative to Outer Mongolia, or rich in what? - Money or some other measure? - there are many to choose from. I know plenty of 'poor' financially (relative to me) who are plenty 'rich' in other aspects of their life - they are pretty happy with how they live.

Dover on and after 29/3/19. £100 million being spent on chartering cross channel ferries. Someone’s going to make a killing from the new chaos.

Are you prepared for the post-Brexit interest with- When are you going home™?

Having loads of money is almost a hindrance to happiness. It creates too many choices which lead to stress in decision making. Apparently...o_O

Being born in UK makes it highly likely you'll spend your life rich beyond the wildest dreams of 80% of the world.

Quite consoling at times when the s@@t hits it.

True, but not especially consoling when you don't have an income through no fault of your own, you have to live in a tough part of town and can't afford to insure the car you need to get to your next hospital appointment.
