Phwoar, Amazon.co.uk list over 100 albums on the mighty prog-improv-avant jazz label. Look at that cover art!
I fancy grabbing a few titles.
I have the:
Max Roach and Anthony Braxton - monster prog epic and dead atmospheric. Terribly excessive. Love love love. Max Roach RIP genius, etc.
Hans Bennick (?) and Myra Melford - dreary avant garde cobblers.
Jimmy Giuffre - minimalist and abstract, quite good and ambient, not listened to it much but want to dig it out now.
Cecil Taylor Unit - intense if a bit dry, my memory is faint so must listen again soon.
Dave Douglas Tiny Bell Trio - cartoony and wild and jolly. Bill Frisell ADD childish sort of thing with trumpet.
Any suggestions? No such thing as too much percussion.
TIA
