What Will We Actually Do With Our Sovereignty After Brexit?

Return to imperial measurements and mints as well as pounds shillings and pence—with sovereigns of course!

Try and replicate the same trade deals the EU (440m customers vs. our 60m) has now.

Search out new life and new peoples to trade with. i.e. China and India (pop. 1bn each give or take) and Trump's 'America first' USofA

Remove EU wording from passports and queue with the rest of the world at airports.

Give Indians the same rights to come and work here as the EU has now.

The UK will abandon ECJ ECHR etc legislation in order to crush trade unions, reduce civil liberties & working rights and further erode the state’s ability to impede the Conservative Party’s wealthy owners and backers. That is what Brexit was ‘for’; it is what the wealthy hard-right tax-exile elite that financed it paid for, though sadly a heck of a lot of people didn’t spot the real motive at the time.

Basically it gives the Tory party and other far-right forces the opportunity to undo a century of liberal human rights legislation. Everyone in even the slightest doubt should ask themselves why the hard-right hate the ECJ, ECHR etc so much? What is it about these internationally accepted and agreed protections of human rights and civil liberties that are so restrictive to the Conservative Party’s wealthy corporate donors that they are so desperate to abandon them? What is their motive?

“The people of England regards itself as free; but it is grossly mistaken; it is free only during the election of members of parliament. As soon as they are elected, slavery overtakes it, and it is nothing.”

― Jean-Jacques Rousseau, The Social Contract

They don't even hide these views now—it gets them ministerial jobs.

The UK is unlikely to crush the trade unions under a Corbyn government, and according to HarryB, who is a journalist and therefore knows, there will be a Corbyn government.

The ECHR is not an institution of the EU, incidentally, it falls under the Council of Europe. The UK is a founder member of the European Court of Human Rights (1949) and a signatory of the European Convention of Human Rights.

If there's one point in all the brexit crap which I couldn't care less about it's sovereignty! I want good, fair, just, laws, rules and regulations and couldn't care less who's idea they were or if they were thought of in Brussels or Birmingham!

AS has been mentioned above, the reason that gammon scum right wing low life want "sovereignty" is so they can change international rules and laws so they are no longer effected by them and can feather their own nests even more whilst destroying the NHS, adding Mcjobs, lowering the min wage, forcing the poor into workhouses etc.

In reply to the OP, probably flog it off to the Americans now that we’re running out of things to privatise.

Bang on, Jez.
