What no cricket thread ?

Career defining innings for Crawley. If he’s replacing anyone it’s Burns or Sibley. Be great for all 3 to hit form 2nd innings...

I don't think he's an opener. His first class average is only 30 so he's still learning.

Youngest to score a double-century in a Test for England:
22 yrs 60 days L Hutton 364 v Aus Oval 1938
22 yrs 103 days DI Gower 200* v Ind Birmingham 1979
22 yrs 201 days Z Crawley 201* v Pak Southampton 2020
22 yrs 352 days WJ Edrich 219 v SA Durban 1939

Batsmen younger than Zak Crawley to make 250 in a Test innings:
G Sobers, D Bradman, L Hutton & G Smith

Buttler batted the whole session without a boundary - amazing. Record 5th wicket partnership, 6th highest partnership for England ever...

Tremendous stuff. Get 550 in quick time and get Archer after them!

The pitch looks pretty lame it was a good toss to win. Let's see what they're made of - I reckon they're capable of batting the better part of two days but perhaps not after 2 days in the field. Buttler 200? The first 500 for 3 years...

Scoreboard pressure does funny things to batsmen.

This just illustrates how form & class differ.

I am really pleased for Buttler

One day we won’t have Anderson opening the bowling. That day will be a sad day for England and for Cricket. Jimmy we love you.

Indeed, Anderson is a great bowler. England have had a stonking day, nothing to criticise in my eyes; kept Pakistan out in the field until thoroughly demoralised.

If we win then England are number 2 side in the world.

Always a good quiz question. Anderson’s first List A match was also which batsmen’s last List A match?
