My favourite music like this is Captain Beefheart, now King Crimson as well. Lots to discover methinks.

Calexico - Spiritoso (LP format). A RSD release from 2013. Essentially the band with a large symphony orchestra, verging on a Morricone-esque spaghetti western type of sound. Excellent recording.

I have just been gifted two Calexico albums! never heard of them.
Not played yet as they are sealed and will need a clean.
