This will surely be a collector’s item as well as the three other releases on Straight Ahead Records. A Bernie Grundman label. All releases are superb. Zane Musa died shortly after the recording made it direct to tape. His only solo album.

Reading the rest of this thread, I am ashamed of my lowbrow taste. I have not wanted to listen to any Jazz other than John Zorn and Nucleus for months.

Will have to put on Ascension really loud next time I get the house to myself.

Hooray - another bonus night warm enough to sit outside! Tonight’s joyous album is Kimono My House. I love it to bits, despite its release coinciding with my own fumbly Amateur Hour and concomitant glares and slaps. Side one is perfect, side two flags a little in the middle. It’s one of the few albums I could listen to just for the bass playing - Martin Gordon’s is heroic throughout.
