I wondered what the turntable is and discovered it seems to be a contentious issue. The internet does seem to broadly agree that it's a Para-Flux tonearm from the 1940s/50s.

It was only a quick trip to Sounds of the Universe, before a gig.....
 
It seems to be Suicide Night on France Musique la Jazz. Lots of versions of Suicide Is Painless (the most recent in Hot Club style), Disco Suicide by Brand X, a cover of a Henry Cow track about suicide (I’ve forgotten the full title) by two violinists, Mose Allison’s Life Is Suicide and now Revolutionary Suicide by Steve Lacy. Their ‘themed’ nights paradoxically bring about a terrific eclectic mix.
