Wishbone Ash - Just Testing - original vinyl from 1980. This was an attempt to modernise their twin guitar sound but they were fighting against the punk/new wave movement. Most notable track probably Living Proof - co-written by Laurie Wisefield and Claire Hamill- which even Andy Powell's version of WA still play

They could still sell out the likes of the Edinburgh Odeon - but I recall getting their autographs at a pre-gig store appearance at the much missed Other Record Shop in Edinburgh and their management seemed mightily pissed off that there was only a gaggle of student types like me awaiting their arrival - so they sat in their bus for ages - presumably hoping for a miracle. The band were perfectly pleasant once in situ !
