Kings Of Cajun

"22 stomps from the swamps"

What a cracking romp this is! Im thinking a good barn dance here. Plenty of energy from various artists. Rooted in the ballads of the french speaking arcadians when they came to Louisiana. Im enjoying it

A darker, colder day than yesterday. So to fit the mood: Schubert - 'Winterrise' BBC 2010 recording on CD. Henk Neven, baritone, Hans Eijsackers, piano.

A heady mix of:

Davy Graham: The Guitar Player

The Fall: This Nation's Saving Grace

The Byrds: Sweetheart of the Rodeo

Bit of a Jazz Trumpet morning.
Now Harry Beckett - 'Pictures of You'. 1985 LP. This great British trumpet player is certainly in the same 'class' and not over shadowed by those in my 'spins' above.

This is great—but the list of players looks like a NY Jazz school outing.

Karen Mantler (vocals, harmonica, organ, piano), Eric Mingus (vocals), Steven Bernstein (trumpet), Pablo Calogero (baritone saxophone), Marc Muller (guitar), Steve Weisberg (synthesizers), Jonathan Sanborn (bass), Ethan Winogrand (drums)
