Herbie Hancock - Maiden Voyage BST-84195 ("Blue Note Masterpiece Special Replica 15" Japanese pressing)

New Paul Simon album - really interesting and on first listen I would say better than So Beautiful. Certainly the best of the last 20 or so albums I ordered from Juno - the James Blake ones are interesting but the pressing quality is not so good.

Bob Weir - Blue Mountain.

Its his first solo album for a decade and is pretty good for an old bloke from The Grateful Dead. He's helped out by Josh Ritter among others.

On a blue note binge of late. Now it is Grant Green - Idle Moments. Inexpensive 75th Anniversary reissue lp sounds great.

Solange (Knowles) - the new album.

Never been much bowled over by Beyonce but this one by little sister is kind of nice. I like it.

"This is Dollar Brand", on LP. Wonderful dynamic solo piano recording of him by Bob Auger made at Pye Studios in 1965 before he changed his name To Abdullah Ibrahim.
