Artur Rubinstein's remastered 1965 recording of Chopin's Nocturnes on RCA Red Seal.

i have a set from Daniel Baremboim, but this although very good this version is surpassed by the Auld Yin from Poland .

I've had a copy of it since it was released, it is good but it's not as good as people make it out to be, Miles Davies and John Coltrane et-al are much much better at jazz.

It's also easy to overplay it, as I did. I can't bear to listen to it now.

"Blue Saxophones" , also published as "Coleman Hawkins Encounters Ben Webster ", the £1.99 charity shop purchase that started me listening to jazz :)

Haendel - Messiah

Conducted by Layton on Hyperion

The start of the Christmas marathon - only 29 other versions to get through :)

Frank Zappa / One Size Fits All. I picked up a NM/NM copy of a UK first pressing in Norwich yesterday. I love this period of Zappa's music.

Chuck Van Zyl - Rituals.

The latest (Berlin School) EM release from the guy. A bit predictable in places but a pleasant listen nevertheless.

FIY WKCR in New York started their 10 day 24hr Bach Festival, I'm listening live but the do have a stream, listen every year, it is excellent!
John

An early crimbo present I was forced to open:

John Grant With The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra Live In Concert.

If you've any love for the wonderful big bear of a man - then treat yourself.
Ace arrangements, swoony strings, and the man himself in fine voice.
