Jimmy Buffett - Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes (Spotify) - bit of country, not a major genre for me but this is actually okay.

Was: Lloyd Cole and the Commotions - Easy Pieces
Is: The Teardrop Explodes - Kilimanjaro
Will be: Wire Train - Between Two Words

Because it's that kind of day.

Yesterday i played my New vinyl copy of Mellon Collie and the Infinite sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins, a lovely birthday present..thanks family

Sheryl Crow - her new album "Feels Like Home"

A nice collection of American Country Rock numbers, very well put together. An excellent well mastered recording.

Frank Tovey 'Grand Union' L.P. (1991)

a massive change to his work as Fad Gadget. Interesting but I prefer his earlier stuff.

This put me onto "Easy Listening For The Hard of Hearing" - had an initial skim. Really hard to believe that's from 1981! I've added to my Spotify list for a proper check later.

Thanks Darren, just jogged my memory for a great Gary Brooker song...

SYMPATHY FOR THE HARD OF HEARING LYRICS

Gary Brooker

Called up to Camberley in '39
To play his part on the French front line
He was full of hope, overflowing with tears
He'd been on the earth barely nineteen years
but he was willing
Sailed across the Channel for to meet his foe
Marched from Le Havre to Forge-les-Eaux
There were sounds of battle that assailed his ears
They moved that night with the taste of fear
to the killing
Got dug down in Deauville
His young life on the line
Had time to think about her
His first love he'd left behind
The battle lost
at heavy cost
To life and limb
but not for him
He was caught
and marched away
to darker days
a prisoner
He walked to Poland
with thousands of others
Their common plight
would make them brothers
For years of cold and fear
and lonely tears
for four long years
The Allies came
to liberate
They found him in rags
In a pitiful state
But alive
Taken at the very start
Not freed until the last
Lest we forget the sacrifice
That young men make for what seems right
We lose them
confuse them
abuse them
Young rose waiting on the English shore
To hold her boy, now a man of twenty-four
Hard of hearing, no feeling
What do we know of pain and healing?
Hard of hearing, hard of hearing

the strypes....saw them live the other night.......great live act.

...down with the kids me

might look like the school band but they can play

It's a great album. bought it back in the 80s from Andys Records when they had an 'Electronic / Experimental' section and it was going cheap (I was loking for TD & Schulze LPs at the time).

Check out Boyd Rice's output as Non, too.

This is great too
