  1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

Gutted, another one gone. Astonishing life from classic Blue Notes, Miles, through Weather Report, Joni, Steely Dan and beyond. An astonishing legacy. RIP.

Sad news but he had a brilliant innings.
My late Father bought Heavy Weather when it was released. I’ve still got that copy and it’s getting a spin tonight for sure.
RIP Wayne and thanks for the music.

This really terrible news. One of the very greatest Jazz composers and players now joining all of other sad losses this year. He has thought left us with an outstanding legacy from his remarkable career. RIP Wayne and thank you for so much great music.

RIP. I saw him live in his own group in the Usher Hall many years ago. Impressive

Weather Report were such a great band. Heavy Weather, Black Market and Mr Gone were a staple diet 'round these parts.

Pretty good innings to reach 89. Total Respect.

God I love Heavy Weather. The LP will go on later. What a fabulous musician.

Another good example of a jazz musician remaining productive well into his 80s, Shorter left us all a great catalog of music. RIP.
