One bunch I find interesting are the collapse welcome committees you frequently encounter on climate forums. These folks tend to think it's inevitable and we deserve it, or the same and it's how the script will likely play until after many, many more years of evolution.

It's hard not to conclude that's a convenient position to take if you're generally unsatisfied with past, present or future personal prospects. Or just hate most people. And yourself.

USA showed their colours long ago in 1990 when they refused to sign the Kyoto Agreement. Nothing has changed there.
