We have for sale a VTL TL7.5 Reference Preamplifier
This is silver, pre-owned, 1 owner from new.
It was manufactured in 2005 and is a Series I model, the current Series III version is £34,000, when a Series I was new it was around £17500 from memory, asking £6900 or closest sensible offer.
It is supplied in original packaging and comes with 2 umbilical cables, 1 power link, remote control, manual and UK power cable
It comes with 2 x 12AU7 tubes fitted and comes with 2 x 12AX7 spare tubes
Perfect working order, overall condition is very good. There are a few light marks to the casework, on the left hand side cheeks and also a couple of very small marks to the top edge of the pre-amp (the unit with the volume control). Nothing serious given the age of the unit! Overall it is very, very good.
There are 4 pairs of RCA or XLR inputs. Each source can be set for its own level of gain so that all will have the same loudness level, and any input can be assigned for unity gain and processor pass-through.
There are 2 sets of RCA outputs configured as buffered tape loops
In terms of pre-outs there are 2 pairs of both RCA and XLR
This uses 2 x 12AX7 tubes, the control chassis houses all the power supplies and microprocessors (and their noise), while the audio chassis contains only the amplification circuitry, relays, and switching facilities.
Messages are relayed to the audio chassis via two 50-pin SCSI computer cables, one for each channel, but no digital signals are used to control the audio chassis—only 5V DC signal travels between the boxes.
