Valve pre with a Meridian 557 power amp?

Just wondering if there's any reason not to try it - I can't find any published specs for the input impedance of the 557 but assuming that whatever the valve pre is has a low output impedance, is the 557 likely to go 'pop'? Or just sound wrong due to a mismatch?

Borrowed a 557 and used it with both my Supratek pres. No problems and took the somewhat clinical edge of the 557.omio of course. Never attempted to hook my subs to the 557, not sure about all this bridged malarky.
