I'm running a ProJect RPM9.1X TT with an AT33PTG cart tracking at 1.8g. I'm generally happy with it but I'm convinced it sounds a bit cold and toppy at the outer edges of LPs and warmer on the inner tracks.
I've played around with tracking force and bias/anti-skate, and the cartridge is aligned using an old Practical Hi-Fi two point alignment protrator. I've also tried it with a Popular Hi-Fi cartridge alignment guage which allows for overhang (?). Anyone got any ideas what else I need to be looking for or is it, as I suspect, just a matter of compromise?
