New House is sworn in Thursday, and presumably Pelosi will be elected Speaker at the same time.

Easy question Drood. They make him look like he has the most hair, and the best, most positive attitude.
 
I agree with this character assessment of Trump. I also agree, should the Mueller report show clear evidence of criminal conspiracy, that he should be impeached.

But I also think this freshman congresswoman from Michigan should have thought twice before saying something this crude and unconditional in public.

Trump is so superlatively bad, and so blatantly unrestrained by norms himself, that one is tempted to feel the usual limits of civility do not apply. So I can find it in my heart to forgive her.

I do agree that this sort of thing is polarizing, and probably does more harm than good. Probably.

The henchmen are described as follows in a press report: "Behind him stood four bald-headed men in suits from the National Border Patrol Council, who then loudly proclaimed their support for Trump’s hard line on border security." So they all look like that because they represent a macho 'hard-ass' law enforcement culture.

Polarizing ? USA is already irreversibly POLARIZED even if some don't feel it yet. Like Brexit Britain.

True. My thought was why give Fox News and even worse alt-right outlets the talking point? Tlaib, a Palestinian-American, is one of the first Muslim women in Congress. The Christian Broadcasting Network has already referred to her as the “foul-mouthed Islamic congresswoman.”

Here’s her quote that was caught on a cell phone camera:

“People love you and you win. And when your son looks at you and says: ‘Momma, look, you won. Bullies don’t win.’ And I said, ‘Baby, they don’t.’ Because we’re going to go in there, and we’re going to impeach the mother****er.”

The ugly word doesn’t bother me. It’s her not thinking about how her comment could be used against her party. To win in 2020, Democrats need moderate votes. But for the next two years, and especially if Trump is not impeached, Tlaib will be example number one of the “looney left”. They will say that by pre-judging Trump, she shows no respect for the justice process, and so on. This was, quite simply, an own goal.
 
Agree with all above comments. Tlaib is a bit of an idiot - she should commit these quotes to memory : "speak softly and carry a big stick", and "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt"
