Trump Part 14

Trump's just Tweeted that Cohen's made up everything.

The Democrats made up the Russian hacking... so they could lose the election.

Cohen made up the pornstar payments... so he could go to jail.

While Trump needs to do an awful lot better than that, it's probably enough to keep his base happy. They'll buy anything.

...
The main message I receive is one of a seriously dysfunctional nation. Even more worrying.. what happens in America today......

The message I receive today is quite the opposite. Despite the best efforts of a corrupt President to distract and obfuscate, the judicial system continues to function as intended.

The full text of the Tweet is...

"I feel very badly for Paul Manafort and his wonderful family. “Justice” took a 12 year old tax case, among other things, applied tremendous pressure on him and, unlike Michael Cohen, he refused to “break” - make up stories in order to get a “deal.” Such respect for a brave man!

Ahh right. That will be lot more difficult for 'yer typical redneck to think through...

That's as maybe.. and it is a little encouraging. But I still recall the notorious 'Enemies of the People' headline here when our trusty DM wanted to undermine the rule of Law.

pardons may not be all trump hopes them to be. there is speculation that mueller has "prosecutorial backdoors" for the major players in this drama, i.e. he's building cases on the state level against them.

This just in:

Michael Cohen’s lawyer Lanny Davis has come out all guns blazing on a tour of the broadcast studios in the US today. He has reiterated the guilt of the president regarding the hush money paid to two women, and stressed his client possesses information about Russian interference that would be of interest to investigators.

“The president of the United States directed him to commit a crime meaning the president committed the crime and covered it up because he didn’t sign the cheque to keep quiet the affairs with the two women,” Davis says, explaining what Cohen told the court under oath yesterday.

well, not quite "just in". he said that on rachel maddow's show last night (i heard it with my own ears).

Seriously, this has to be the beginning of the end for Trump or there really is no hope for America

what i don't understand is why trump is not being indicted right away. the evidence here is incontrovertible.

I think we can sum up Trump today as sheepish. Which is a first. The Fox and Friends frenzy never materialised.

He's just posted: "If anyone is looking for a good lawyer, I would strongly suggest that you don’t retain the services of Michael Cohen!"

Nothing else.
Wow, that's all he's got - self-pity - sad!

Th orange one is now Tweeting that the crimes Cohen pleaded guilty to weren't crimes. I see Rudy's hand in this.

You can see exactly what Trump is doing with those tweets: preaching to the converted. He knows that his supporters will swallow anything. But surely the evidence already out there is enough for him to swing?

I was hoping he was swinging already & that's why there was twitter silence

here is everyone's favourite zionist lawyer on everyone's favourite news station:

granted, it is rather sobering (and annoying).

Trump's going to go nuts on Twitter during tomorrow's Fox and Friends...

Cohen admits to working “at direction of the candidate” Trump and national enquirer to silence Karen McDougal. He also admits to Stormy Daniels payment that he made “with and at direction of the same candidate.” https://twitter.com/PPVSRB/status/1032005898888245256

Trouble is we've been here before and his detractors have been so alarmist that it's difficult to determine exactly what the realistic implications are for him. I have absolutely no idea how this will pan out and made the decision to follow the facts as they unfold rather than the conjecture a long time ago.

If, as is being speculated, Trump's about to fire Mueller that could be the spark that brings him down. As things stand I think the Republicans are behaving like turkey's that would prefer it not to be so near Christmas.

from CNN:

Being indicted isn't Donald Trump's problem. Impeachment might be.

"...
That is a violation of campaign finance laws, one of the eight charges that Cohen pleaded guilty to on Tuesday. And so, if Cohen admitted he broke the law and testified that he did it at the direction of the President then, well, isn't Trump in deep trouble?

Probably not. And the reason is that special counsel Robert Mueller's office has apparently signaled to the President's legal team that they will abide by longstanding Justice Department regulations that stipulate that a sitting President can't be indicted. "All they get to do is write a report," Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani told CNN's Dana Bash in May. "They can't indict. At least they acknowledged that to us after some battling, they acknowledged that to us."

..."
