If teh Turtle keeps his word, then gropenfuhrer will throw another spanner into the works.
Taking bets? What are the oddz?

ps - Did you see the text of the whitehouse phone message? Priceless.

"Thank you for calling the White House. Unfortunately, we cannot answer your call today, because Congressional Democrats are holding government funding, including funding for our troops and other national security priorities, hostage to an unrelated immigration debate. Due to this obstruction, the government is shut down. In the meantime, you can leave a comment for the president at www.whitehouse.gov/contact. We look forward to taking your calls as soon as the government reopens."

No bet.

And when the Repubs again go back on their word, I trust the Dems will know better than to try this again. Or at least, to first check that the nearest army brigades are reliable....

Fox News now openly talking of "declaring war" on the Deep State https://www.mediamatters.org/video/...eclare-war-outright-against-deep-state/219149

Eventually someone in the Fox/Infowars/Trump tribe is going to start shooting.
Do Fox News ever define what they believe the Deep State to be?

One suspects, you are allowed to suggest the Deep State is a construct, ultimately controlled by Russian elements but under no circumstances may you suggest the Deep State is a construct, ultimately controlled by Israeli elements.

Deep State is career Officials left over from the Obama Administration who have it in for The Dotard, obvs.

As I suspected, Trump does not respect May. Not one bit.

"During formal phone calls between the two leaders, May finds it almost impossible to make headway and get her points across, one person familiar with the matter said. Trump totally dominates the discussion, leaving the prime minister with five or ten seconds to speak before he interrupts and launches into another monologue.
In one phone conversation during 2017, Trump complained to May over the criticism he’d been getting in British newspapers. Amid warnings that Trump would face protests in the streets when he arrived, he told the prime minister he would not be coming to the U.K. until she could promise him a warm welcome." https://www.bloomberg.com/news/feat...-relationship-of-donald-trump-and-theresa-may

“Not coming to the U.K. till she could promise him a warm welcome”- makes it the twelfth of Never. The “special trade deal” will be window dressing from what’s left after “America First, Only America First”. Murdoch and Dacre will need all their creative skills to peddle the delusion to the Great Brexit public.

Perhaps he will visit Scotland on the fly to sort out his loss-making golf resorts here...

It was obvious that Trump didn't take a liking to May when he would talk fondly of Merkel and Macron and never mention May.

Then the Twitter attack was the dead giveaway.

I suspect he may well detest her and find her too weak, too quiet and too standoffish.

Hard to imagine what a small country in decline led by a exceptionally weak and ineffectual leader would have to offer an egocentric sociopath such as Trump. He is, as ever, only in the game for whatever he can score. He knows he can totally hammer the UK on a trade deal later as the Tories are so desperate and in a corner entirely of their own making so why waste time with May now?

That really was cringeworthy. An utterly pathetic, ineffectual and lost PM of a UK in obvious decline begging for platitudes from the worst POTUS in US history. Truly embarrassing for all concerned.

Cringetastic - I have the distinct feeling that he really doesn't like having to deal with women who have power (I'm including mrs May here, obv.)
