Trump Part 11

Surely you just have to close down his twitter account and that's the end of his presidency?

Manafort charges likely "tax related" just reported on MSNBC.

You might need to keep a container or a rubber band handy so you can keep the popcorn fresh.

Let's stay focused people; it isn't what Manafort and Gates are charged with that counts (pun unintentional) as much as how they'll eagerly flip on Trump to earn reduced penalties.

Special Counsel said:
Release from Special Counsel:

Paul J. Manafort, Jr., 68, of Alexandria, Va., and Richard W. Gates III, 45, of Richmond, Va., have been indicted by a federal grand jury on Oct. 27, 2017, in the District of Columbia. The indictment contains 12 counts: conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, false and misleading FARA statements, false statements, and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.

She often has a habit of retweeting the same thing dozens of times within minutes. Bizarre behaviour from a bizarre woman. She's been making stuff up about Trump for many, many months.

I got burned by Mensch (and the bloke who does the paintings who is also part of that site) when I first found her blog. But one quickly realises she is, at the very least, full of shit and best ignored.

Besides it's not like we need crazies for this story as what is actually happening appears to be crazy enough.

Surely her short time in the media spotlight as a Tory MP proved that beyond any doubt?

I agree - I said before that through twitter, he provides his base with rationalisations for their emotional decision to elect him. These rationalisations & distractions that Trump provides via twitter serve to strengthen the base's emotional decision - take twitter away & their emotional decision wanes.

Yep, I haven't heard yet what the possible amount of incarceration these indictments entail - I'd imagine it's pretty onerous - enough to put the shits up Manafort & Gates to flip them - unless Trumpy can pardon them? It seems that he can!!

Even Trump would have a hard time pardoning one of his former staff for 12 counts of conspiracy against the country. Regardless, the charged individuals would have had to have gone to court and been convicted first; Muller is likely betting on them flipping before tea time today.

Media report that he has "secretly pleaded guilty as part of Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election" https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...r-george-papadopoulos-secretly-pleaded-guilty

Plus if this goes where it looks like it might with evidence of Russian government interference, we're into a very dangerous new Cold War.

And Tony Schwartz warned just now that "Trump will be vastly more dangerous and unhinged."

It's times like these that we can be glad Trump is an idiot, but chances are they will plan (or have planned) something. It could be a last stand.

We wait to see if it is a whimper or a bang.
