Asking on behalf of a friend who has a loudly buzzing transformer and wants to replace it with a new one (he has a second, identical 557 that is silent, internet hearsay is that some were noisy and some weren't so noisy depending on whether the transformer was well wound or not) - what is the spec of the transformer in a Meridian 557? Internet search says it's 1600VA (gulp), but no details on voltages. If anyone knows, info would be greatly appreciated, then he can look into having one made up at Canterbury Windings or suchlike.
