Apparently her figures for cutting regional government staff pay* were straight from the Tax Payers' Alliance so the likely explanation is that the Tory right-wingers believe they have found a useful idiot to do their bidding.

I mean, I don't share their views, and the guy in the yellow shades who doesn't care about trashing the planet because he'll be dead soon can go f*ck himself, but most of the people in the video didn't seem that nuts. It was all stuff you might hear from a family member and shrug a bit.

And let's face it, the Conservatives don't have the monopoly on delusion...
 
Can someone explain to me why the meedja is to blame? If a party already has the Mail, Sun, Telegraph and Times in their pockets, surely they can't blame the meedja? Or is 100% control the only acceptable option?

Her plan for this is to increase our gas production and to start up fracking. No mention of CO2 increase strangely

Looks like Truss will copy the Republicans in waging war on LGBTQ+ human rights (Jo Maugham/Open Democracy via Twitter). Terrifying if true. Religious extremism given a green light to torture people with “conversion therapy” pseudoscience. The very bullshit that drove Alan Turing and so many others to suicide. This one needs fighting with bricks and bottles on the streets if necessary. No way in hell should bigoted far-right “laws” be accepted as legitimate.

PS The Wikipedia entry on “Conversion Therapy” is well worth reading, as is content from Stonewall. It is bullshit quackery and no more legitimate than say Iran hanging gay people from cranes. It is born of exactly the same religious fascism mindset.
