Toots Hibbert has passed

Very sad. Not unexpected given his health over the last few weeks. RIP to one of my favourite reggae artists.

Mick

RIP Toots.
Legend.
Gave me one of the most perfect sunny afternoons in a field in Glastonbury many moons a go.
Will never be forgotten.

One of my great musical memories, seeing him with Bob Marley, mid 70s.
Playing Toots now to commemorate.

I have heard comparisons with Otis Reddings voice, think that may be so.

I have a fair bit of his vinyl, and the new forthcoming release? seems ok

Many classic tunes often covered but never bettered.A mainstay of any reggae collection.

It was Toots that hooked me on reggae. I’ve never got loose and don’t want to...

I don’t know what it is but Toots and the Maytals always make me smile, no matter how I’m feeling when I start to play them.

Toots has been and remains a mainstay on the soundtrack of my life. RIP Toots and thank you...

Only one thing to say:

'...music is what I got, and gotta find some way to make it...'

This is the stuff of utter bedrock in passionately-delivered music. vies to be my favourite thing of favourite things in recorded music.

& count myself fortunate to see Toots play it live with my brother @Mark Packer.
