Saw a short clip of Tony Allen on the Culture Show the other day, and realised I have nothing of his at all - which is clearly a major oversight.

So what's good and what's not ... and does TonyL have any of it for sale on vinyl?

Try this one. You will have a good chance of getting it on vinyl.

Also try this one. It has 4 of his 70s albums in one package. This is on Vampisoul and is available on vinyl.

Thanks Dean, I have ordered those from Honest Jon's Records. Now why didn't I think of buying direct from the record label!

The Vampisoul collection is a great start.
Pick any of the albums he worked on with Fela pretty much at random- he's consistant!
For something a little different try N.E.P.A. or Ariya, a couple of slightly more electronic (kind of) albums.
