Today, 31st March, is Trans Day of Visibility (#TDOV)

Jonathan Ribee

Unavailable at present
TDOV is a day to show support for our trans and nonbinary colleagues, friends and family. TDOV is a day of celebration, aimed at raising the profile of the trans community and their achievements worldwide, while also recognising the work still needed to achieve acceptance without exception for all trans people.

Trans is an umbrella term to describe people whose gender is not the same as, or does not sit comfortably with, the sex they were assigned at birth. Transgender people may describe themselves as a binary (trans man or trans woman), or as non-binary (somewhere on the spectrum between male and female).

And for dyslexics it is a great track by The Normal:

The first Mute label record.

Its kind of sad that we need a special day to try and raise the profile and acceptance of transgender people. We have a transgender person to thank for the mobile devices we mostly use to stay connected with the world. Sophie Wilson, such a brilliant mind and at the same time utterly modest and down to earth. We need more people in the world like that.

I agree. Do we really have to have a special day to celebrate diversity and difference...... or in reality humanity.......
