Time to change

Thinking of moving my ATC SIACD on to release some much needed funds.
At the moment i have the SIACD & SCM11's the 11's don't really work as well in my room as i would have hoped.
Believe it or not at the moment 2010i's have replaced them. I also have some Ela 1.5's which i really like.
So requirements amp Cd Player Dac no thoughts on a turntable at the Moment.
Room is 6m-5m ish all for a maximum of £1000

What would you do ?
 
Personally, I wouldn't buy a CDP.

I would look for a good second hand Japanese amp such as a Sony ES, maybe one of the bigger Rotel models, or maybe a Marantz or Denon. I guess £300, maybe £400 max for a really nice ES.

As we know, DACs all sound the same. However, spoil yourself with an MF V90 DAC at £200. Or if that's too rich, CYP, Firestone etc can all oblige for less.

Then buy a laptop with a SSD; eg second hand lenovo think pad (£300). Install JRMC which was about £30 last time I looked. Or go with foobar or similar and save £30.

And you have enough change for a curry and plenty of beers. Result!
 
Surely it's more simple to press open & put in a cd, I thought technology supposed to make things simpler?
