Thorens TD124 Armboards

Hi Guys
I’ve recently acquired a lovely Schopper’d TD124mkii and SME3009 arm
I’m Looking for some recommendations for an armboard to fit my 3012 , I don’t think the arm is going to stay on this deck as I love the compact looks with the shorter arm but I’d like to give it a try all the same
Wood, slate, panzer, acrylic ........bit of a minefield

The one I use/prefer is a standard Shopper wood one. Listen very carefully to the bolt tension. As ever Tom Fletcher (NAS) was right and just tightened until the bolt stops and no more sounds the best to my ears. After some experimentation either way I’m back using the SME rubber isolation grommets too, not much in it, but just a little more natural with my cart (an MP-500).

PS I have a surprisingly vast collection of SME cut armboards (Swissonor panzer, Stereo Lab ply, acrylic) that I’d be happy to sell should you be interested in any. Drop me a PM if interested.

Make one. You only need elementary woodwork skills. Choose any materials you fancy. If you want to play with slate then a kitchen worktop supplier will make one for loose change from an offcut.
