Thorens mains lead

Just going to put a new plug on a TD 166 mk II and have a mental block over the mains lead...is it blue neutral and black live ?
There is no earth lead at all.

Before you continue with this project have your sight checked for colour blindness!

Blue is neutral BUT brown is live. On the older wiring black is neutral and red live.

I'm not colour blind ! Mental blocks are another thing though....
I thought it wouldn't matter as it is a synchronous motor. I was surprised to find nothing about this inn the web...but there is now as Pink Fish gets very high in google.
It is blue neutral and black live.

Black / Blue is not unusual on older continental equipment, as far as I know black is live as it is on older american kit. Since you only have two wires anyway and continental two pin plugs are handily reversable it is unlikely to matter one way or the other.
