things to see and do in Glasgow

House for An Art Lover, Bellahouston Park. Has a very good cafe downstairs. Built to a Mackintosh design which won a competition, but was not built during his lifetime.

we arrive in Edinburgh on a fri for 3 nights and then to Glasgow on mon for 3 nights

To be completely honest the city centre is a bit of a shambles these day, Covid did a lot of damage there.

I've not been in the city centre since just before the first lockdown apparently Sauchiehall street is a bit of dive now.

Buchanan Street was and probably is still okay it's very similar to the main shopping street in Malaga without the sun of course:D or the nets.

There are some good recommendations on here already but I like the Inn Deep https://www.inndeep.com/ for a drink - they have a ridiculous number of beers (19 guest kegs lines, 3 guest casks and over 100 bottled beers) and if you like dogs there are usually plenty of owners in the Railway arch round the back.
Tennents bar and The Bon Accord are pretty decent, too.

Bon Accord is a great pub, just past the theatre district. Whilst you're up at the west end for the botanical gardens, check out the Òran Mór and further up the Great Western Rd is 'smelly' Mellis just a great cheese shop

George Mewes on byres road is a good cheese shop too and the French cafe almost next door is excellent.

The best pub by far in the city is the Horseshoe Bar very close by Central Station and ignore the doom merchants, the towns pretty safe these days, better than most british city centres at night. If you go to a concert go to the concert hall at the top of Buchanan Street or either The City Halls or the Fruitmarket in Candleriggs, ignore the SECC or it's adjoining venues, the acoustics are dire.
