There's rumble on my Bill Evan's CD!

I just bought the 2-CD Bill Evans Trio Live in Buenos Aires 1978 (West Wind 2061) and it’s virtually unplayable because there is what sounds like really bad turntable rumble on every track. I guess that the CD release has been transcribed from the original LP records, rather than from the master tapes.

Does anyone else have this same experience and does anyone know of a CD set which was actually transcribed from the tapes. I think that the original vinyl release was on Yellow Label, but I don’t see any evidence that this company released it on CD.

The Buenos Aires concert was one of Bill Evan’s last and although these last performances could be a little erratic I think that he showed glimpses of some of his best and most inventive playing. The Buenos Aires concert, by all accounts, was one of the greats.
