They made some of the most amazing pop songs of the 60s, very much their own sound, Pictures of Lilly, I can see for Miles, Substitute. They basically created 'Rock' in 1966.

If you can find it, The blu ray of The Who live at Kilburn from the year before is fascinating and pretty amazing. It also comes with a whole '69 concert as an extra.

I've never been much of a fan, mainly due to the lack of guitar solos, however, they must have recently toured North America and something went into my YouTube selections which I watch and found the performance to be remarkably good - since then have watched a few more and despite their advanced age both Daltry and Townsend are surprisingly still on top form - take a look...
