I only lay all the parts out for customer as I said I'd take lots of photos for him, the parts stay safe and sound in one of these trays and once the new spring
turn up I'll wash all the parts ready for reassemble.

Your right 281 is pretty high but the watch is brand new, I serviced a Seiko 7009A movement at University the other day and that was only around 245 ish but its was an old one
and not in great shape to be fair

 

Don’t feel too bad, I recently had my Speedmaster Professional serviced by Omega at a cost of £630.00 and 3 months of lost wrist time. It came back in visually immaculate condition and was keeping time to +/- 1s per day, so someone had done a great job of regulating it. I got a load of replaced parts back, including the mainspring, pallet fork, escape wheel,all the hands and some other stuff:

Unfortunately they must have knocked something else out of kilter because the chronograph kept stopping at 57s.

Omega said, immediately, very sorry, we’ll sort it. Which is nice, but I’m without my grail watch for at least another 3 months…

 

@bazza, do you need any spare Omega bits for any projects? I doubt anything in my pic is actually knackered, especially stuff like the pushers or the crown and stem.

If I'd paid £600 and waited 3 months and it still wasn't right I'd be incandescent.

Have been wearing my orig Seiko Orange Monster last ten days... everyday.
I still bloody love it - however daft it may be as a thing: it is the watch I put-on to wear, in My Time Off.

 

Yeah, I was, internally, but it was sort of better, apart from the bits that were worse.

The nice lady in the Omega Boutique was very apologetic and helpful, and I’ve found upsetting nice ladies rarely leads to positive outcomes.

 

Me too, but I sometimes don't care who I upset and I would be asking for some of my substantial sum of money back. Nice lady or not.

 

I get that, and if it’s still not right when it comes back I’ll be going down that line.

 

Mine's in my small rotation of favourites, too. It's an original in a world of its own, & it makes me happy.

 

It's a design classic for sure, and suitably different from the usual suspects to have its own appeal. I'm resisting buying one.

I'm currently making a point of wearing each of my working watches. I think today's is going to be a Vostok Amphibian.

 

I have a small collection of watches, nothing of any value and a mixture of automatic, manual, quartz & electronic movements. Currently wearing this Omega Constellation Megaquartz 32khz


Sadly the Megaquartz are no longer repairable so enjoying it while I can.

 

I've replaced the battery in my Megaquartz a couple of times.(None of the usual places wants to touch it).

It's quite a nerve-wracking experience. One wrong move and the watch is b*ggered.

I came across a neat little Orient for sale locally but couldn't find any informationon on it using the big G.
As this is knock off central I'd like to know if it's a genuine model or a copiers special variation.

That's Omegas really elegant first integrated bracelet I have 2 Mechanical Automatic Constellations with that case / bracelet, the face above matches the1200? series mechanical movement that I got fixed by Armstrong Watch Repairs

 

If you study his list you'll see that he used to service/repair Megaquartz movements, but has now crossed them off.

 

Have used him before but as you say he has now crossed them of his list.

 

Fair enough I obviously didn't look closely enough. He did my brothers one a couple of years ago.

 

Orient are one of the three major Japanese brands and are now part of the Seiko group though not widely sold in the UK. I have two Orients in my collection and consider them good watches for the money.
