The Wall is 40 this week!

Ah Fodderstompf, a personal favorite. "we only wanted to be loved...". JAh Wobble's awesome dubby bass line. " we only wanted to finish the album with the minimum amount of effort". Lol.

But then I also love P Floyd.
Fodderstompf is on First Issue, not Metal Box.

First Issue feels to me like a bunch of songs flung together, with highlights. Metal Box is brilliant throughout.

Of Pink Floyd, I enjoy Piper the most. A really good album! I like Relics (among other good songs it includes the truly wonderful See Emily Play). I enjoy DSOTM once in a while. For all the derision it seems to attract from early PF fans, I find it consistent in songwriting quality and coherent from start to finish, and it has a certain emotional resonance, too.

Ummagumma has its moments.

There, all the PF albums I own and can be bothered with.

I was at University with someone in the kids choir used for Another Brick in the Wall. A school somewhere near Upminster IIRC. (This was a few years later!)

At uni with them??

I'm sure I read that they got something like 23 o levels between the whole lot of them....I'm sure of it ..
