The Myth of Cables?

If they are not the same length the signal arrives at the LS at different times.
In practice a smallish amount of difference shouldn't be audible.
Forward planning - you'd have trouble selling on a pair LS cables of different lengths.

Assume there is 10 m (30 ft) of difference in cable length. That results in a time difference of 33 nanoseconds. That same time difference is caused by having one speaker 12 micrometers further away than the other one - about the thickness of a human hair..
 
Has anyone actually tried this out with cable, I can't imagine having one 2m & the other 3m is going to be noticeable.

Maybe it's yet another dealer thing to make sure you buy more.

Yes I ran 2 different lengths for my speakers 4m and 3m. Made me use headphones to recover from the problems it caused. ��
 
The mismatch in length might make some difference if you have weird cables with very high resistance/inductance combined with speakers with very low impedance, but time delays have nothing to do with it.
