The Day the Music Burned

It just goes to show how much we take for granted in life. We assume, often in error, that somebody is looking after these important assets on our behalf . You would like to think that from now on in, things will improve, but it’s unlikely, given the scale of the problem.

Having looked at the full list, it does seem to be US-based artists (with a huge lump of them from the 70s onwards), with possibly no tapes transferred from the UK. It is still a complete tragedy.

If any good can come of this, it will be that some proper artiste archiving will now happen, in a safe and fire-proof environment.
