Brahms Piano Quartet no.1 in its original guise - not Schoenberg's orchestration, in a good performance but not in same league as others such as Stern/Laredo/Ma/Ax
But the companion piece is a kind of reverse-Schoenberg, an absolutely superb piano quartet arrangement of Brahms' 3rd Symphony. Its completely convincing and I enjoyed it hugely.

This too is very good.... at times you could almost think its a full orchestra but its only about 14-15 musicians I think. What's very interesting is how the pared down sound in the 2nd and 3rd movements becomes something very redolent of Weimar-era decadent nightclubs in Berlin, very strong shades of Kurt Weil.
